Ruben Non-Rebreathing Valve & Ambu E2 Valve
(Ruben and Ambu diagrams are one above the other, Ruben top)

The Ruben valve was described by Ruben in 1955 and formed the basis of the original Ambu Resuscitator, with self expanding bag, described by Ruben and Ruben in 1957.

The Ambu E2 valve differs from the Ambu E valve in having no expiration shuttter, thus in spontaneous respiration air is drawn in from the expiratory side. Designed for resuscitation only. The drawing is of the Ambu E valve, which has the expiration shutter and can be used for drawover anaesthesia.
