East Radcliffe Ventilator
W. Ritchie Russell, Clinical Lecturer in Neurology in Oxford, and Edgar Schuster O.B.E, D.Sc., described the original in 1953. It was later modified for closed circuit in 1957. Special features include the use of a bicycle rear hub gear, as produced by Sturmey-Archer, to change respiratory rate.
