Patil-Syracuse Laryngoscope
Designed with an adjustable handle having 3 positions, which mimicked the Howland Lock and Polio Blade as well as the conventional arrangement, by Dr Vijayalakahmi Patil with colleagues at the State University of New York at Syracuse in 1983. It was manufactured the following year by Anesthesia Associates Inc of California, who gave us this history. The museum example was acquired from the UK distributor Penlon in the 1990s and was the favoured laryngoscope of Dr J Alderson.
